Ingredients
  

  • 1.5 tbsp Active Dry Yeast
  • 1 tsp Sugar half for activating yeast and half for adding to bread
  • 3 cups Flour plus extra for dusting table
  • 1.5 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • Warm Water

Instructions
 

  • Mix yeast and 1/2 teaspoon sugar with a little warm water and set aside. Allow it to sit for a few minutes while the yeast activates.
  • Combine all ingredients (including leftover sugar and the yeast mixture) in a large mixing bowl.
  • Add warm water and mix until you have a stretchy dough.
  • Keep kneading for about ten minutes. There is no set amount of water. What you are looking for is a dough that is slightly sticky, but comes easily off the bowl or counter. A trick if the dough gets stuck to your hands is to wet your hands a little bit. Be careful though as this will add water into the dough and make it too sticky.
  • Let rest 10-15 minutes.
  • Cut dough in half and knead each piece for about 1 minute.
  • Put the dough in a bread pan and let rise for 1-2 hours. Make sure to put it in a warm place. When our heater is on, I like to leave it on top of the radiator.
  • Preheat the oven to 175c and bake for 20 minutes. After cooking, let it rest again for about 20 minutes to cool down and to make sure the interior will not be chewy.
